Soumilee Chaudhuri Published Op-ed in SPARC, Recipient of the Women’s History Month Recognition Awards, Highlighted in Article about IMPACT Indiana, Appeared on the Dementia Podcast Series, and Received ACI Fellowship

It is with excitement that we share about the various accomplishments of ADNI Scholar, Soumilee Chaudhuri.

Ms. Chaudhuri has a published op-ed as part of SPARC (Science Policy & Advocacy for Research Competition), titled “The unequal cost of aging: promise and pitfalls of a new Alzheimer’s drug.” She was selected out of 140+ applicants to build a cohort of 40 students pursuing STEM in the U.S, and interested in developing skills in science communication, advocacy, and legislative research. Ms. Chaudhuri was awarded the 2024 Women’s History Month Theme: Celebrating Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, featured in the IUSM Women in Medicine article, “Women’s History Month honorees advocate for equity.” Her work with IMPACT (Initiative for Mobilizing Public health Advocacy, Care, and Translational research for Alzheimer’s disease) Indiana is highlighted in the news article, “Graduate and medical students form science policy and communication group focused on Alzheimer’s disease research.”

She was also invited to speak for the Dementia Podcast series, “Tackling Sexism in Academia – Dementia Research Salon” on June 26th, 2024. The podcast is hosted by Dementia Researcher – a network for early career researchers and is based in the United Kingdom. Check out the recording of the podcast episode here.

Lastly, Ms. Chaudhuri was selected for the Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (ACI) Fellowship at Indiana University.
