Dr. Alexandra Clark Receives NIH/NIA R01 Grant, Receives two Pilot Awards, and is co-author of an Article

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Alexandra Clark on the following accomplishments.

Dr. Alexandra Clark recently received funding as Co-I on an NIH/NIA R01 grant titled “Executive contributions to the double jeopardy of depressive symptoms and age on episodic memory in racially diverse adults.” This project is in collaboration with Drs. Audrey Duarte and Vonetta Dotson as PIs.

Additionally, Dr. Clark has secured two separate Center for Aging Population Sciences Pilot Awards:

    • “Sociobiological Pathways of Risk and Resiliency to ADRD in Black and Latino Older Adults” a collaboration with fellow HABS-HD researchers, Drs. Robert Barber and Nicole Phillips at The University of North Texas Health Science Center.
    • “Reno-Neuro-Vascular Imaging Predictors of Dementia Inequality” a collaboration with Dr. Adam Bush from the University of Texas at Austin.

Furthermore, one of Dr. Clark’s PhD students was honored with the best Graduate Student Research Award at INS in February 2024, a testament to her mentorship and guidance.

Lastly, Dr. Clark’s work with Dr. Stephanie Grasso, titled “Bilingual neurocognitive resiliency, vulnerability, and Alzheimer’s disease biomarker correlates in Latino older adults enrolled in the Health and Aging Brain Study – Health Disparities (HABS-HD),” was published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia’s Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring (DADM) in December 2023.
