We are delighted to share about the following accomplishments for HABS-HD Scholar, Shirine Moukaled.
Shirine served on a panel, titled “The Basics of Multimorbidity and Dementia” that was presented to the Alzheimer’s Association ISTAART community on March 27th, 2024. The panel highlighted the methodological challenges in studying multimorbidity in relation to cognitive function and touched upon disparities in the field of multimorbidity and dementia. During this panel, Shirine also shared insights into the early career investigator experience and challenges and opportunities in the emerging field of Alzheimer’s disease.
Additionally, Shirine will be representing her University (Tulane University) at the upcoming American Association for the Advancement of Science Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (AAAS CASE) Workshop April 14-17th in Washington D.C. The CASE workshop is an entry-level program organized to educate STEM students interested in learning about the role of science in policy-making, introduce them to the federal policy-making process and empower them with ways to become a voice for basic research throughout their careers.
