Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of HABS-HD Scholar, Dr. Annie Lee.
In October of 2023, Dr. Lee received a Junior Faculty Award for the 18th International Conference on Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Disease and related neurological disorders (AD/PD 2024). As a recipient of this award, Dr. Lee will present on her research, titled “Genome-wide Gene-based study in Multi-ethnic Cohorts identifies Genes that Interact with Vascular Risk Factors in Alzheimer’s Disease” at the 2024 AD/PD International Conference in Lisbon, Portugal in March 2024.
Additionally, Dr. Lee was awarded a grant from the Carol and Gene Ludwig Pilot Grant in Neurodegeneration for her project, titled “Genetic Association Between Alzheimer’s Disease and Cardio-Cerebrovascular Risk Factors.” The aim of this project is to discover genes that interact with cardio-cerebrovascular risk factors to confer risk of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) in multi- ethnic cohorts and investigate how they perturb molecular pathways leading to AD through integrating multi-omics (genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic) profiles in human and AD animal models. You can learn more about this news here.
Lastly, Dr. Lee’s contribution on the paper titled “ZCCHC17 modulates neuronal RNA splicing and supports cognitive resilience in Alzheimer’s disease,” was published in the Journal of Neuroscience on November 22nd, 2023. You can find a link to the article here.
Congratulations, Dr. Lee on these exceptional achievements! We are proud of your dedication and commitment to advancing research in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
